It seems that 2021 is the year for Japanese cars. Many automakers from the land of the rising sun have been revealing and resurrecting models left and right. The latest of which is Nissan, which has officially launched the all-new 2023 Nissan Z.
Despite being new from the ground up, the latest Z is sporting some classic looks as it pays homage to the first-generation Z. It still looks very modern though, thanks to the LED headlamps, 3D signature LED tail lights, a front splitter, rear spoiler, and twin exhaust outlets.
There are many interesting things about the all-new model. Let’s start with the engine. It now packs a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 putting out 405 horsepower and 475 Nm of torque. All that power is of course sent to the rear wheels as the Z is a proper sports car. This new model is the most powerful Nissan Z ever produced since 1969.
Inside, the Z still has design cues from the Fairlady of the ’70s. It combines both classic and modern designs, which we think is just magnificent. Everything in the cabin is just special, including the 12.3-inch TFT meter display, an 8-inch or 9-inch touchscreen audio display, and the three analog pod gauge cluster. For convenience and comfort, it has features such as power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats, push-button start/stop, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, and a rear parking camera.
Nissan said the new Z has improved a lot in terms of handling. This is made possible by enhancing body rigidity and adopting an electric power steering system. Moreover, Nissan has given the car a double-wishbone aluminum front suspension, wider front tires, stiffer dampers, and improved brakes with aluminum calipers.
Being a modern car, the new Z is packed with modern safety features. It has Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, high beam assist, and intelligent forward collision warning.
There’s no word on the pricing as of writing, but the new model will be available in Japan and the United States around the second quarter of 2022. Since the 370Z has long been available in the Philippines, we can also expect Nissan Motor Philippines to bring in the new model.
