Following its announcement last September, HMD Global is bringing over the Nokia X30 to the Philippines with a very premium price of Php 28k. That’s a very, very expensive asking price for a phone that uses an aging Snapdragon 695 processor–similarly-priced phones come with better processors like the Snapdragon 778G+, Dimensity 8100, and Dimensity 900.
However, HMD Global makes an argument for the Nokia X30’s sustainable build with a 100% recycled aluminum frame and 65% recycled plastic back panel, along with three years of security upgrades and 3 major OS updates–the latter being a big promise, as most mid-range phones only promis 2 major OS updates. On top of that, HMD Global is also promising a 3-year warranty–which is unheard of in any smartphone.
Other key features of the Nokia X30 include a 6.43-inch 90hz AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner, a dual rear camera setup that consists of a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, 4200mAh battery with 33w charging, and an IP57 rating.
