Last year, former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei made waves in the tech industry when he unveiled his latest brand, Nothing. It was supposed to be a refreshing undertaking that brought tech back to its fundamentals and countered the mainstream. The company was able to release two relatively-successful devices in the Phone and Ear (1). This time around, it’s another massive undertaking as the team might just release a sub-brand called Particles by XO.
What exactly will this sub-brand be creating? Well, technology. This is still a consumer tech company, albeit for a different market. To not sully the minimalistic and clean design choices of all Nothing devices, these fashion statement items will be targeted towards those who want a more outgoing and extravagant look. The first device in the lineup is this pair of TWS earbuds.
We’re able to get a clean look at these Particles by XO TWS earbuds thanks to a leak by 91Mobiles. It reveals sort of an interesting dual-globe design, resembling chandeliers, earrings, or even a water jug if you look at it a certain way. It’s up to you. It comes along yet another circular case with “Particles by XO” embossed onto it.
Tipster Kuba Wojciechowski did mention that these will either be an offshoot of Nothing or another company entirely. There’s already a filed patent with the United States registry after all.
According to other sources, these are dubbed the B154 as of now and will feature Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) capabilities as well as LHDC (Low Latency High-Definition Audio Codec). We’re looking forward to being able to test these, especially if they launch alongside the awaited Nothing Ear (2).
