Online Forum Pinoy Exchange to Shut Down After 24 Years

Way before we had social media on the internet, Pinoy Exchange was the go-to place to talk to people–mostly Filipinos–about anything under the sun online. It is one of the earliest online forums in the Philippines, covering things like News, Entertainment, Sports, Lifestyle–and more. It even has a classified section for buying and selling stuff as well.

Well, with social media being more prevalent these days (among them being Reddit and Facebook, two platforms that are close to Pinoy Exchange in terms of function), the significance of the iconic online forum site has changed–and after 24 years, they have announced that they will be shutting down.

In its announcement, Pinoy Exchange will sunset on April 15, which means users still have a few days to use the forum–maybe to reminisce with all their memories on how it has helped them in life–before it’s gone for good.

Right now, we don’t know what will happen to the online forum site after it shuts down, but it’s definitely an end of an era for the pre-2000s online forum that has made a big influence on a lot of Filipinos from the 2000s to the 2010s.

Have you ever used Pinoy Exchange? What are your best memories about the online forum site?
