Smart still maintains its reputation as the fastest and best mobile network in the Philippines according to Ookla’s latest report. This time around, Ookla confirms that Smart was able to clinch the award not just for Q1-Q2 of 2022, but also for Q3-Q4 of 2022.

In Ookla’s latest report, Smart remained to be ahead of the competition in terms of speed and coverage. For the former, Smart bagged a Speed Score of 62.3–while its closest competitor posted a score of 36.36.
This is also seen with download speeds, as Smart posted a median download speed of 31.04Mbps and a median upload speed of 6.8Mbps. Its closest competitors posted a median download speed of 20.22Mbps and a median upload speed of 5.13Mbps.
The Fastest Mobile Network award is based on more than 2.9 million user-initiated tests, whereas the Coverage Award is based on over 3.4 million scan counts.
Aside from speeds, Smart also leads the way in coverage, bagging a Coverage Score of 795 compared to its closest competitor—which bagged a score of 757. As of September 2022, Smart has deployed 77,200 base stations nationwide that include 7,300 5G base stations and 40,000 4G/LTE base stations.
