As much as we are looking for the best value internet plan, we want to inform everyone about a scam about a PLDT Infinity SIM. While this scam started late last year if you search on Facebook, it seems that some still fall for it.
Based on what we gathered, the scam involves a claim of a PLDT Infinity SIM that’s being sold for Php 589 and claims to offer unlimited high-speed internet without any monthly fees for 2 years. It’s obvious from their website (which is now unavailable) that this deal is too good to be true, and those who tried to order one ended up getting a regular DITO SIM. From those who were victimized, the sender of the scam package is from a certain PLDT Infinity Services that’s located in Barangay 715 in Malate, Manila.
What’s even alarming is that there’s a sponsored Facebook post for the said scam, similar to all of those “Marshall Philippines” posts that use the names of some of the most popular tech creators in the country. We already reported the post to Facebook, and we’re awaiting their decision regarding it.
We know that Filipinos are very gullible to such scams online, and we want to reiterate this tip to avoid being the next victim: if it’s too good to be true, it is a scam.
