PLDT continues its reign as the fastest internet service provider in the Philippines–and recently achieved a major milestone as PLDT bagged a five-peat win at Ookla’s Speedtest Awards.

The consistent performance of PLDT in the past 5 years as the fastest internet service provider is credited to its aggressive network expansion and drive to improve overall customer service. In 2022 alone, PLDT recorded a total of 6.08 million fiber-powered ports that cover around 17,000 barangays nationwide.

PLDT is still the only telco in the Philippines that offers fiber-optic speeds of as high as 10Gbps, which was made available to the public in 2021. This places the Philippines alongside first-world nations in terms of ultra-fast internet speeds like South Korea, Japan, Norway, Italy, New Zealand, and USA.

By the end of 2022, PLDT achieved an all-time high of 1.1 million new fiber subscribers, which captured 59% of the fiber customer industry growth for that year.
