It’s a great time to be a Filipino, as Polaris eSports emerged as the grand champions of the Predator League APAC 2022 DOTA 2 grand finals after besting fellow Filipino team Execration.
In the all-Filipino DOTA 2 finals, it was an intense match between Polaris eSports and Execration, where they duked it out in the first two games and made the crowd excited with a long and thrilling game 3. While Execration was leading initially in game 3, Polaris eSports pulled through to close off game 3 and bag the $75,000 prize and Predator Shield.
Second placer Execration took home $30,000, while third placer GrindSky eSports took $15,000.
For the PUBG grand finals, Vietnamese team Genius eSports emerged as the champion, while ArkAngel Predator finished in third place and brought home $15,000 in prize money. Despite the fierce competition, ArkAngel Predator brought in their A-game from Map 12 onwards, being able to finish third in the crucial Map 14 match as it overtook Korean team GNL.
For the special awards, Attack All Around’s Escalucio and Yagon Galacticos’ ATee were given the Intel MVP awards for PUBG and DOTA 2 respectively, where they brought home a Predator Helios 300.
As for the next APAC Predator League Grand Finals, Acer Philippines General Manager Sue Ong Lim announced that the next tournament will be held in Manila sometime in 2024.
