They’ve definitely done it this time. Porsche and Pixar have decided to bring Sally Carrera from their legendary Cars franchise back to life in a 1-of-1 rendition. This limited-edition vehicle will be sold with profits given to charities for young girls’ welfare as well as families affected by the conflict in Ukraine. This project is sure to get the creative minds at both companies in a flurry to bring the spirit of the character into a working machine.

It won’t be just a prop or display piece though. Porsche has already done that in the past by finding a Carrera, shortening its wheelbase, and adding the iconic eyes and mouth. This example will be a full street-legal version that its owner can proudly drive around without worrying. As expected, the vehicle will also embody the raw, direct, and lively driving characteristics of any Porsche off the showroom floor.

Here’s the thing though: Sally from the Cars movies was a 2002 996-generation Porsche Carrera. In order to bring this project to modern times, a model from 2022 will be used. It will be based on the 992 model of the 911, which is why we hope that the resemblance won’t be just the color. Considering that Porsche and Pixar have been working on this Sally project for months now, we doubt that it’s going to be underwhelming anyways.

The vehicle will be auctioned at the exclusive RM Sotheby’s Auction House along with a one-off timepiece by Porsche Design. It is said to share the same characteristics with the project car’s bespoke features, adding even more value to an already rare piece.

Porsche Cars North America President and CEO Kjell Gruner said that his own daughters grew up watching Sally on the big screen, which is why it’s nice that this project will be helping other women and children in the process. The end goal here is for the spirit of pop culture and pure driving pleasure to mesh together into a package that will be forever impossible to forget.
