Just yesterday October 21, President Rodrigo Duterte, along with Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Roger Mercado, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Governor Danilo E. Suarez, and Congressman David C. Suarez, graced the inauguration of the Sariaya Bypass Road in Lucena City.
The said road spans a total of 7.42 kilometers and costs P685 million to construct under the current administration’s “build, build, build” program.
During his speech yesterday, the president commended the DPWH for a job well done and stated, “Today, we add another milestone in our build, build program … This achievement affirms the administration commitment to improve the quality of life of Filipinos by pursuing strategic infrastructure projects across the country.”
The new four-lane road also contains four bridges and aims to strategically connect the areas in the Calabarzon region for more mobility and spread economic activity in the province.
Quezon Province’s 2nd district representative David Suarez gratefully thanked the president and said that this is a historic event in the province and stated that, “This will have a high impact on the motorists.”
The Sariaya Bypass Road will reduce travel time from Sariaya to Lucena from the usual 45 minutes down to only 10 minutes.
