Presyong Brand-new: LTO Bidding Goes Viral

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) recently held a bidding in Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino only to disappoint bidders with the units and their prices.

Presyong Brand-new: LTO Bidding Goes Viral

According to Mike, a delivery rider who went all the way from Taguig to attend the bidding, the prices are truly disappointing.

“Kung tutuusin halagang Php 5,000 lang yan, di naman gumagana…o kaya pwede nila ilubog sa dagat ang motor para kapitan ng talaba,” Mike said.

One motorcycle unit was given a starting bid of Php 44,120 despite its condition. All units were sold in “as is where is basis,” which means that the agency is not liable for whatever defect the units may have. In addition, the buyer must pay the impounding fee as well as the necessary papers to release the unit.

In its reply, the agency said that the prices were inclusive of penalties and impounding fee, hence the price.

“Kasama na rin yung bayarin sa impounding fee and yung storage fee na Php 15 kada araw,” LTO Strategic Communications Office Chief Divine Reyes said.

She further added that the agency is following the guidelines set by the Commission on Audit and that unsold units will not go to waste as they will be donated to TESDA.
