Redmi 11 Prime 4G And 5G Announced: Sulit Ba O Sakto Lang?

Looking to shake up the entry-level segment of smartphones, Redmi has announced the Redmi 11 Prime 4G and 5G models, each with their own sets of specifications to help them stand out among a crowded market space. Here is what each of these devices has to offer.

Redmi 11 Prime 5G

This is the more expensive Redmi 11 Prime sibling, due to its 5G capabilities. It’s rocking a Dimensity 700 chipset, which was MediaTek’s most affordable 5G processor at the time of its release in Q4 2020. Inside are eight cores, two Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz. Graphical operations are handled by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. This duo projects content onto the 6.58-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution, 400 nits of peak brightness, and a smooth refresh rate of 90Hz – protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

RAM and memory options are 4/64 and 6/128, depending on how much of a power user you are.

Cameras at the back are configured in a 50-megapixel main and 2-megapixel depth arrangement, while the waterdrop notch up front shelters the 5-megapixel selfie shooter. A fingerprint scanner can be located at the side of convenient access, while the power is supplied by a 5,000 mAh battery that can be topped up with an 18W charger. Long-gone but much appreciated features making a comeback here are the microSD card slot, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM Radio. We never thought we’d see all those return on a single device but we’re sure glad they have.

The Redmi 11 Prime 5G will be available in Thunder Black, Chrome Silver, and Meadow Green color options. September 9 is the set release date and prices are INR12,999 (PHP 9,311) and INR14,999 (PHP 10,744), depending on which variants of memory you purchase.

Redmi 11 Prime 4G

Moving on to the more affordable little brother, the Redmi 11 Prime 4G is no slouch either. It carries the same display specifications as its 5G counterpart, and cameras will most likely be the same ones.

The main differentiating factor here will be the chipset imbued in the smartphone: it is a MediaTek Helio G99 processor. It uses a 6nm process which should prove to be more power-efficient than its counterparts and rivals. This is mated with 6GB of usable RAM for multitasking purposes. With almost all specifications being the same, both will ship with Bluetooth 5.3. Installed software on both is Android 12 with the renowned MIUI13 skin on top.

Pricing details remain to be hush-hush with the Redmi 11 Prime 4G, but we’ll be sure to provide updates when available.
