Formula One fans, rejoice! It seems that smartphone brand Redmi will announce a partnership with Mercedes for a gaming phone real soon.
That’s right, insiders have said that the announcement will be happening during the Redmi brand conference this coming Wednesday, February 16. The brand will also be announcing the launch of new devices, including the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro, and a Redmi K50 Gaming Edition.
The main event, however, will be the announcement of the exclusive mobile phone partnership of Redmi with the said Formula One team. In fact, leaks have said that there will be a limited edition Redmi K50 Mercedes F1 smartphone, which will look similar to that of its predecessor.
According to the leaks, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will have a 6.67-inch OLED Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 480Hz touch sampling rate.
The said gaming phone will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. As for battery life, it will come with a 4,700mAh battery and a 120W fast charging support. The cameras of the phone are also no joke. The device will sport a triple rear camera setup on the back headed by a 64MP Sony IMX 687 primary sensor.
The limited-edition Redmi K50 Mercedes edition will come in the iconic color scheme of Mercedes F1 cars, which includes a gray black panel with racing lines mimicking those found in the F1 cars. There will also be an RGB strip around the camera module as well as Gorrilla Glass Victus protection.
Pricing and release dates have yet to be disclosed by the brand.
