Following its partnership with Converge, Sky has begun emailing its regional subscribers for the option to upgrade their current internet connection for free. The network upgrade is part of the signed partnership, where Sky will be utilizing Converge’s pure fiber network.

In an email sent to one of our readers, Sky explained the benefits of the internet upgrade using Converge’s fiber network that includes equal download and upload speeds, up to 1Gbps in internet speeds, and less service interruptions.
Sky also mentioned that they will be sending another email on August 12 for more details on how their regional subscribers can avail of the free upgrade using Converge’s network. We also emphasized regional subscribers because it seems that Sky wants to prioritize improving the internet service of its subscribers outside Metro Manila.
Considering that the upgrade offer is free, this should help Sky leverage itself with its services. When we made our list on the fastest fiber internet in the Philippines, Sky is dead last and is the most expensive in terms of Mbps to Peso. Sky’s Plan 2499 offers speeds of up to 400Mbps–for comparison, PLDT offers a 400Mbps internet service for their Plan 2099, while Converge also offers the same speed for their Plan 2000.
