Samsung recently held an event to showcase its latest lineup of television units for everyone to see. Up front and center was the latest Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV line, slated to become the brand’s flagship and a staple in high-end home setups in the Philippines. Here’s what the DISPLAY KING had in store.
Of course, we’ll tackle the premium Samsung NEO QLED TVs first. It’s a combination of game-changing 8K resolution alongside a built-in audio system that will leave you wondering how it was implemented on such a thin frame.
The display makes use of several clever technologies. The first of which is Quantum Mini LED, enhancing clarity and reducing blooming effects to bring utmost clarity out of every scene. It’s just 1/40th the size of your typical LED cell so Samsung promises “stunning picture at greater contrast.”
Up next, Samsung is utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to elevate the viewing experience of its 8K resolution displays. The 8K AI Upscaling feature employs Samsung’s neural analyzer to select from 64 networks, resulting in enhanced texture, sharper edges, richer details, and reduced noise. The Real Depth Enhancer Pro, powered by deep learning, identifies the focal point of the eyes for more realistic details.
In addition, Samsung is incorporating AI into the audio experience. Q-Symphony 3.0 and 8K AI Remastering optimize sound based on the room conditions and audio content, delivering audio quality that stays true to the creators’ intentions, supported by Dolby Atmos technology.
The Samsung Neo QLED 4K sets a new standard for entertainment, leveraging Quantum Matrix Technology to improve backlight intensity for revealing previously unseen details in comparison to competing displays. Deep learning is applied to apply high dynamic range effects on a per-scene basis, resulting in brighter highlights, clearer details, and vibrant colors.
Then we have Samsung OLED panels. These are for hardcore competitive gamers who need as many refreshes as they can get since minute gaps in time can spell the difference between victory and defeat. Supporting this cause is Game Bar 3.0 – providing instant access to key game settings such as aspect ratio and frames per second. Additionally, these OLED TVs are the first to receive AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro certification, delivering an ultimate gaming experience.
Utilizing Perceptional Color-Mapping Technology, Samsung’s OLED TVs employ real-time AI analysis validated by Pantone to achieve perfect hue expressions. Quantum HDR OLED further enhances the picture quality by fine-tuning brightness and contrast per pixel, resulting in deeper blacks and more vivid highlights. The audio experience is also elevated with Q-Symphony 3.0 and Object Tracking Sound featuring Dolby Atmos technology.
