During CES 2022, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. unveiled its vision for the future dubbed as “Together for tomorrow.” The company highlighted its plans to build a more sustainable future among others.
A company promoting a sustainable future may sound cliché. Every company portrays to be an Earth Warrior, but only a few will go the distance to actually create a sustainable future.
Samsung is one of few companies that is going the extra mile just for a greener future. This is even acknowledged by Carbon Trust, the world’s leading authority on carbon footprint.
Samsung’s vision for a sustainable future is built on what they call “everyday sustainability.” According to Samsung, they put sustainability at the heart of everything they do, “adopting new and low-impact product manufacturing practices, footprint-reducing packaging and a more sustainable customer experience, and by responsibly disposing of products at the end of their lifecycles.”
Last year, Samsung’s memory chips helped reduce carbon emissions by nearly 700,000 tons. Moreover, Samsung plans to use 30 times more recycled plastics this year. The company also revealed its plans to expand the use of recycled materials to include all mobile products and home appliances over the next three years.
All these efforts are actually not necessary on part of Samsung. In fact, not every tech giant does the same, yet Samsung is wholeheartedly going the extra mile for a greener future.
In addition to its vision of a sustainable future, Samsung also unveiled, at the same event, its efforts in meeting consumers’ diverse needs. For this, the company will be launching more tailored products in the future while constantly exploring ways “to harness customization to help users get more out of their devices.”
The company is also pioneering a lot of products that feature seamless connectivity. Samsung has announced its plans to make SmartThings Hub a built-in feature on its 2022 TVs, Smart Monitors, and Family Hub refrigerators in order to help make connected living experiences more accessible and seamless for everyone.
