Senator Padilla Pushes Cable Cars as Alternative Mode of Transport

If you go online at least once a day, chances are you had heard about Senator Robin Padilla and his idea of cable cars as a mode of transport.  Apparently, his cable car idea is actually a great way to provide Filipinos with more modes of daily transportation.

In fact, had Senator Padilla brought up the previous research of the Duterte administration on cable cars back in 2018, which the French government even supported, people would not have rushed their judgments. This is because the Department of Transportation (DOTr) actually considered the possibility of a 4.5km cable car system connecting the LRT2 Santolan Station in Marikina to Barangay Rosario in Pasig.

In addition, cable cars are not only suitable in mountainous landscapes. They can also be utilized in flat terrains, just like the Mexicable and Cablebús in Mexico City, as well as the gondola lift found near the city center in Singapore.

As of the present time, the country’s traffic congestion and transportation problems are only getting worse every day. This is why we should actually be giving credit to Senator Padilla for coming up with solutions.

On the plus side, the government has been continuously striving to improve the country’s transportation problems by improving our railway system and railroad station conditions, building new roads and highways, and even prioritizing bikers by assigning bike lanes on main roads.
