The upcoming 10.10 Sale is one of the major events for eCommerce giants, and one of the challenges with these platforms is the prevalence of fake products. For Shopee Mall, they have a bold claim that there are no fake items on their platform–if there are any, they will refund customers three times the purchase price.
“Brands under Shopee Mall have undergone rigorous verification to ensure that every product sold is 100% authentic,” Shopee Philippines Public Relations and Corporate Affairs head Erin Tagudin said during the Shopee 10.10 Brand Summit, which was held last October 3.
This is a reiteration of the bold promise they announced back in April, where they also extended the return period from the usual 7 days to 15 days to give customers added peace of mind. This reassurance is important, especially in the digital age, where scams and fake items are rampant–and several Filipinos tend to fall for it.

Shopee Mall maintains that they have a perfect record of 0% reported fake items on their platform, with Tagudin adding that they have a security team that monitors and flags any vendors that are removed for scamming and tries to reapply on their platform. As part of Shopee’s policy, a seller is banned on their platform if they are caught selling fake items three times.
