After winning the same award last year with the Levorg, Subaru is back with the Outback to win the JNCAP Best Award 2021.
In Japan’s New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP) 2021, the Subaru Outback was given the prestigious Five-Star Award. This award is given to vehicles with “A rank” evaluation for both collision safety and preventive safety performances.
Moreover, the Subaru Outback outclassed every other car in the JNCAP 2021. The Outback scored 95.07 out of 100 in the collision safety test and 81.95 out of 82 in the preventive safety test. This makes the Outback the safest car you can buy in Japan right now.
The stellar performance in preventive safety can be attributed to the new generation EyeSight, in addition to the newly added electric brake booster which improves the responsiveness of brake assist. As for the collision safety, it is all thanks to the combination of the Subaru Global Platform and full inner frame construction which gave the car an exceptional body rigidity and crash absorption.
According to Subaru, it will continue to improve the safety performance of its vehicles under its “all-around safety” principle. It will also aim to achieve zero fatal road accidents by 2030.
Japan New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP) is conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the National Agency for Automotive Safety and Victim’s Aid (NASVA).
