The much-awaited Philippine-spec Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid has finally made landfall at the 2022 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). The practical, people-carrying MPV has always been synonymous with practicality, but now it gets a touch of environmental consciousness. Here’s the breakdown.
The Suzuki Ertiga keeps the same MPV form factor as before. On the outside are stylish projector headlamps and a chrome grille to impose its presence on the road. Its rear lights, meanwhile, are “3D LED tail lamps” that run down from the upper section of the design.
It still seats 7 in a 2-3-2 configuration, similar to other competitors in its bracket. The interior is also identical in its practical simplicity with enough wooden accents to add a bit of personality to the otherwise monochromatic layout.
The most exciting change here is the one that comes under the hood. It has an all-new K15 Petrol Engine with “Smart Hybrid” technology. The “Intelligent Injection” petrol engine and electric motor work hand-in-hand to provide a refined city driving experience. Other features include Idle Start-Stop, Brake Energy Regeneration, and Torque Assist.
Depending on your preferences, the powertrain can be mated to either automatic or manual transmissions. That’s an ideal setup to have.
