Teachers Lose Salaries In Alleged Bank Hacking

It has been reported that some bank accounts of teachers have been hacked, with each of them losing around P26,000 to P121,000 in their Landbank accounts.

Teachers Lose Huge Money in Alleged Bank Hacking

The Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC) said that they have been receiving reports from members of the association that their money has been disappearing after transferring the money from their Landbank payroll accounts to other banks and e-wallets.

Benjo Basas, TDC chairman has already reported the case to the Department of Education (DepEd).

Basas also stressed that Landbank should be held accountable for the losses that the teachers have incurred.

“May pananagutan ang Landbank sa mga insidenteng ito at nais naming tulungan kami ng DepEd upang mabawi ang perang nawala mula sa aming kasamahan,” he said.

Knowing that teachers are some of the most underpaid and overworked workers in the country, it truly is heartbreaking that hackers are taking advantage of them still.

The TDC is urging all teachers who have experienced this unfortunate incident to come forward and report their experiences so that necessary actions will be made.
