The 2023 Honda BR-V Launches In The Philippines

To celebrate the dawn of the upcoming new year, Honda Cars Philippines has just launched the all-new 2023 Honda BR-V. We already got a bit of a sneak peek at the last Philippine International Motor Show, but here’s what went down at the launch event.

The latest, long-awaited iteration of the famous subcompact crossover has officially hit our shores. On the outside, it carries a new look that modernizes the appeal of the latest model. It’s not that the outgoing version already appeared outdated, but this is a nice refresh.

It’s much boxier than before which follows the trends we’ve seen with the latest City, Civic, and other models.

There’s not much to report with the vehicle’s side profile as it simply maintains the expected characteristics of its segment.

The rear is where things spice up once again. Replacing the old model’s triangular shape is a flatter, cleaner outline. It particularly stands out here as Honda is going for a more mature, grown-up look.

This targeted appeal also shows in the interior design. It’s clean, simple, and more symmetrical than ever before. The old design seemed to point more toward the driver so this one is fairer to the passenger as well.

As expected with the top-trim VX model you see here, it comes with modern amenities such as the HONDA SENSING safety features, a high-resolution touchscreen display, and soft-touch panels.

Move on to the rear seats and you’ll find that this is still the same family-friendly people hauler that it always has been. There is ample space for adults to comfortably sit side-by-side here, although three wider individuals might be a bit of a squeeze.

Regardless, they’ll be treated to cool air thanks to the rear vents with an individualized control panel. This is the industry standard at this point, but a tiny display instead of a switch-style mechanism would have been nice to have.

The third-row seats are usable for children or shorter passengers. If you’re folding them down though, then you’re now treated to an abundance of cargo space. It’s also a nice touch to have the backside of the rear seats to have a texturized finish, removing any worry of leaving permanent marks on the supple leather.

We’re quite excited to get to drive it, in order to test its 1.5 liter powerplant outputting 121 HP.
