The New Acer Predator Helios 500 Is Now on the Prowl

The Latest Hardware to Help You Take Down the Game

If the ultra-lightweight Acer Swift 5 isn’t quite your cup of tea and you need something to majorly scratch your gaming itch as you’re out and about, then you might want to check out the claws on one of the latest laptops from Acer’s Predator Gaming Line — the Acer Predator Helios 500.

This beast of a gaming notebook features up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i9+ processor, an NVIDIA GTX 1070 that you can overclock, Intel Optane Memory, an NVMePCIe SSD, and up to 64GB of RAM to help you rip through all the latest triple-A gaming titles. The screen on this bad boy is no slouch either and measures in at 17.3-inches. You’ve got a choice between a 4K UHD or Full HD IPS display at a 144Hz refresh rate plus support for NVIDIA GSync tech for both the built-in and external display should you need more than one.

A gaming notebook in 2018 wouldn’t be a gaming notebook without a touch of RGB and Acer has got you covered with an RGB keyboard with four lighting zones.

To keep the heat of battle solely in-game, Acer has equipped the Helios 500 with two of Acer’s proprietary AeroBlade 3D metal fans and five heat pipes. If you’re a stickler for tweaking machine and min-maxing its potential, you can control the fan speed, overclocking, lighting, hotkeys, and keep an eye on the temp via the PredatorSense app.

Just like the Acer Swift 5, we’re going to have to wait for the pricing for this bad boy as well.
