The realme Book Prime Is Coming Soon

A while back, we reviewed the original realme Book. We said that it was an impressive first-time attempt by the company to produce a laptop that was both budget-friendly and a performer. They’ve now followed it up with a successor slated for a global release: the realme Book Prime. Here’s what we know so far about it.

The realme Book Prime is essentially the Enhanced Edition that began sales in the Chinese market very recently. Specifications in the rumors are listed as an Intel Core i5-11320H which is considered a midrange processor for ultraportable gaming and productivity laptops. Considering that the chipset is fairly new, it was manufactured with the intent of maximizing performance with no compromises to battery life as well. Because the extra power in a small package means more difficult heat dissipation, a dual-fan system is added to keep temperatures reasonable.

Other specifications include a 2K 3:2 display which seems to be the trend with thin and light ultrabooks nowadays. The display covers 100% of the sRGB spectrum and comes to a brightness of 400 nits. Handling all the active applications are 16 GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD for storage. It is also rumored to come with WiFi 6 connectivity for quicker browsing, although Bluetooth still remains at version 5.0. As expected, ports onboard are sure to include a USB Type-A and C connector, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Thunderbolt 4. The 54Whr battery that they manage to squeeze in the slim case should be easily topped up by 65W quick charging technology.

Timelines-wise, the company is looking at an April 2022 release. We should see an official announcement soon from the company on full details regarding the realme Book Prime.
