The vivo Y22s has just been made official and ready for release worldwide. As the latest product in the value-oriented vivo Y family, we’ll check out what it has to offer for prospective buyers.

Up front, the vivo Y22s packs a 6.55-inch Full HD LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling. The screen peaks out at 530 nits of brightness, which is a respectable level usable in outdoor situations. A waterdrop notch shelters the 8-megapixel selfie shooter, which complements the rear-facing 50-megapixel main sensor and 2-megapixel bokeh sensor pairing. vivo claims that the software is now optimized for shots in low light. Images can be saved onboard the 128GB of onboard storage expandable by microSD cards up to 1TB.

The vivo Y22s sports the Snapdragon 680 which can also be found in similar devices. It uses a 6nm process and improved Kryo 265 CPU cores for improved performance over the 662, its predecessor. Multitasking is handled by 8GB of RAM with expansion of up to 16GB with Extended Ram 3.0 technology. All of these can be managed with the installed device care software, iManager.

Feeding the components their juice is a 5,000 mAh battery that can easily be topped up via 18W fast charging – advertised for 2 days of standby, 21.5 hours of video streaming, or almost 10 hours of gaming. Despite these inclusions, the phone comes in with dimensions of only 164.30×76.10×8.38mm and only weighs 192 grams.

Other notable inclusions are the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB Type C port, and others.
