UnionBank Partners With Western Union for Online Remittance Service

Need to remit money? Well, we have good news: UnionBank has partnered with PeraHub and Western Union for a fully digital remittance experience. This is another first from UnionBank and it will benefit many Filipinos wherever they are around the globe.

UnionBank Partners With Western Union for Online Remittance Service

According to the World Bank, the Philippines is the third largest receiver of remittances, thanks to the large amount of OFWs that send money back home to their families. However, many of our kababayans have to travel far, fall in line, and risk being pickpocketed whenever they wish to send or receive money. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has made transacting more difficult for many Filipinos. With this in mind, UnionBank is improving the remittance experience by making it fully digital. It is now safer, easier, and worry-free with the UnionBank online remittance service.

How to send remittance via UB Online:

Step 1: On your UB mobile app, go to send/receive money menu.
Step 2: Choose receive and select other partners.
Step 3: Tap the Western Union logo.
Step 4: Input the MTCN code and amount.
Step 5: Select recipient account to credit the amount and then click next.

Opening a UB mobile account is also as easy as that. Just download the app which is available on Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and even Huawei App Gallery, fill up the relevant information, and then take a selfie. Take note that opening a UB mobile app requires no maintaining balance so feel free to register.

UnionBank said their new online remittance service is the safest and most reliable way to send or receive remittances. Indeed, the collaboration between UnionBank, PeraHub, and Western Union will improve the remittance experience of every Filipino, especially OFWs. It is a partnership where “everybody grows and everybody wins,” according to Jeffery Navarro of Western Union.

The UnionBank online remittance service is available on the UB MobileApp starting today, August 10, 2021. Moreover, UnionBank will reward existing users with a P50 Shopee voucher for every referral that signs up for a UnionBank account and uses the app to send or receive a remittance of at least P500. The referred user will also get a P50 voucher.
