Uptown Mall is opening the Philippines’ “first and most luxurious bed cinema” in November. Instead of regular seats, the new Dolby Atmos theater will provide up to 64 patrons with beds that house pillows and mattresses made out of premium material from Tempur.
The pressure-relieving synthetic foam was originally created by the United States’ National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for use in space shuttles, but it later became associated with luxury and comfort.
“The moment you lie down feels like pure magic as billions of ultra-sensitive cells instantly respond to your body,” Tempur wrote on its website, adding that the material was “like nothing else on Earth.”
As a result of its unique properties, Tempur “is now found in bedrooms around the world, transforming the sleep of millions.”
“That’s why we’re the only mattress and pillow brand recognized by NASA for improving the quality of life,” the company said.
Uptown Bonifacio, which collaborated with Megaworld Cinemas and Tempur on the new theater, is promising moviegoers an elevated experience with its project. Netizens were seemingly impressed with Uptown Bonifacio’s plans as most of the people who reacted to the mall’s Facebook announcement used the “wow” emoji.
They may let out the same reaction when they learn of the bed cinema’s Php 1,000 per head price.
Only Uptown Bonifacio is slated to house this unique bed cinema concept. However, other developments by Megaworld Lifestyle Malls might get the same concept in the future according to Spot.ph.
