The state-owned Land Bank of The Philippines has made it easier to open a bank account during the pandemic. As of today, you can now open a Landbank savings account via their mobile app. The bank has officially launched its digital onboarding system (DOBS) Mobile this week. This move is in line with Landbank’s support for the government’s Ease of Doing Business bid and also in consideration of pandemic-related health protocols.
“The DOBS Mobile underscores Landbank’s continued commitment to providing accessible, convenient, and safe digital solutions. Our digital banking initiatives remain centered on balancing service delivery while ensuring the health and safety of our clients which is of utmost priority,” Julio Climaco Jr., Landbank’s Branch Banking Sector head and executive vice president said.
This digital account shares similar features to the regular Landbank savings account, such as cardless withdrawal through the mobile app, funds transfers, and bills payment through either the Mobile Banking App (MBA) and the Landbank iAccess. In addition, having a Landbank savings account is one of the requirements if you’re interested in taking out a loan for a learning gadget.
Clients can choose to upgrade their virtual Landbank Visa Debit card to a physical one by visiting a branch and requesting a physical card anytime. Applicants only need to only fill out the application forms online and upload their valid identification cards like a unified multipurpose ID (UMID), passport, Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) ID, Social Security System (SSS) ID, company ID, and even a school ID so long as they are of legal age.
