There’s another streaming service available in town: Amazon has just announced that it has expanded its Prime Video service into 200 countries and territories, including the Philippines. The Prime Video service is one of Netflix’s main competitors in the US, with a catalouge of both original TV shows like the Grand Tour from ex Top Gear personalities like Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, as well as the acclaimed (and slightly depressing) Man in the High Castle, Hand of God and Mozart in The Jungle, as well as movies and other, non-original TV shows.
Just like Netflix, you can start streaming via iOS and Android devices, as well as through compatible smart TVs made by LG and Samsung. Subscriptions are just $2.99 per month, which is around Php 150 for the first six months, with a free 7-day trial period. Regular pricing is $5.99 a month, which is a bit cheaper than Netflix’s offering.
