No Google Maps, no problem
Are you a Huawei user looking for a good alternative to Google Maps? Huawei recently made navigation app HERE WeGo available at App Gallery. Developed by Nokia back in 2012 and touted as a credible rival to Google Maps, HERE WeGo was exclusive Windows Mobile phones. Since it was sold to the consortium of Audi, BMW, and Daimler, HERE WeGo became available at Google Play, but was overshadowed by Google Maps.
Like Google Maps, key features of HERE WeGo include voice-guided navigation and public transit information for over 1300 cities, along with the ability to download online maps in case of no internet connectivity.
With no definite timeline as to when the US Trade Ban will end, HERE WeGo officially serves as Huawei’s answer to Google Maps as its official navigation app for HMS-equipped devices like the P40 series, Nova 7i, and MatePad Pro.
Prior to HERE WeGo’s availability at App Gallery, Huawei inked a deal with TomTom for maps and services early this year.
