PayMaya Partners with Ride-Hailing App hirna for Cashless Transactions

Another step towards cashless payments

PayMaya gains a new partner with ride-hailing app hirna, adding more avenues for its convenient cashless payment service. With the partnership, hirna users Davao, Iloilo, Butuan, and Bacolod can book rides and pay using PayMaya QR, doing away with physical cash and lessening the possible spread of COVID-19.

hirna is the first transportation service that supports PayMaya, and the latter is expected to add support for cashless transactions for other transportation services. hirna partner-drivers can also download the PayMaya Negosyo App and apply for a QR code so that they can accept cashless payments from its passengers. In addition, their PayMaya Negosyo account can serve as a digital account for other businesses as well.

By providing our passengers with digital payment options through PayMaya, we are helping ensure a safer ride whenever they book a ride with one of our partner taxis,” hirna President and CEO Francisco Mauricio said.

Aside from hirna, PayMaya is working DOTr and LTFRB to let PUV drivers and taxi, bus, and TNVS operators and drivers have support for PayMaya’s cashless system. As of this writing, taxi operators from Metro Manila, Cebu, and Baguio support PayMaya’s cashless transactions, and the Araneta Bus Port has a digital ticketing system that supports PayMaya QR.
