Raffy Tulfo Wants to Challenge Lazada, Shopee with Idol Shopping Network

Yes, you read that headline right: broadcaster and media personality Raffy Tulfo is set to operate his own online marketplace to rival current eCommerce platforms. To be called Idol Shopping Network (ISN), Tulfo wants to rival Lazada and Shopee in the eCommerce space, even claiming that his upcoming eCommerce platform with “well-screened merchants and resellers”.

“The selection process is long and strict. Sending a photo of the item for sale isn’t enough. We must see the item itself,” Tulfo said in an interview with The Philippine Star.

To ensure customers are 100% satisfied, Tulfo disclosed that customers must sign a contract saying they agree to be taken photos and videos while opening the package from the courier–on top of signing a document saying that they got the right product and it is in good condition. While that may sound skeptical, Tulfo explains that documentation is vital, and that all photos and videos will go to a system.

Aside from that, Tulfo claims that ISN will provide opportunities for merchants with zero capital–as long as they comply with ISN’s strict standards. One of its long-term goals is to earn enough profits to subsidize a school.

ISN will be operated by Tulfo’s children.
