Green Lantern Joins the Crew
We initially featured the Dark Knight, Batman, and then we followed it up with the one and only Queen of the Amazons, Wonder Woman. Tonight we’re happy to share that the Green Lantern action figure rounds off and completes our first series collection of the Play Arts Kai DC Variant set.
Just like the first two action figures that we featured earlier, Green Lantern comes completely re-imagined by the Play Arts Kai team of Square Enix. Unlike the Green Lantern that we know of that usually just wears some sort of spandex, this one has an ornate and mystical armor which is supposed to be produced by the Lantern’s Power Ring. It comes with different kinds of hands including one with green energy radiating from the Power Ring.
To put more depth, and detail to the armor, they used some sort of carbon material for the breast plate. It’s squarely placed on top of the torso of the action figure with the Green Lantern logo proudly displayed at the center. It’s the same material that they used to create the construct that’s emanating from the Power Ring. Note that you can remove this hand and replace it with either a closed fist or an open palm (comes in the box).
One more proof of the level of attention and detail they poured into this action figure can be found in the boots of Green Lantern. As you’ll see in the image below it resembles the design of the boots we saw with medieval knights which provides great contrast to how modern this character is supposed to be but it still used traditional armor for protection.
Over-all we’re very happy with the Green Lantern action figure from Play Arts Kai. Definitely something that collectors and fans of the DC Universe will love and appreciate!
It has the same price as Batman and Wonder Woman at Php2,950. There are still limited quantities available in various Data Blitz stores. It’s interesting to note that there are several stores in Greenhills (Vmall) that are selling this for more than Php4,500.
