You are not the only one: Facebook Messenger is facing problems, where the majority of users could not send or receive messages. According to Downdetector, the problem started at around 6:00PM, with the common problem being the inability to receive messages or to connect to Facebook Messenger’s servers.

Aside from Messenger, Downdetector also noted of a similar outage with Facebook, though it is not as severe as that with Messenger.

The problem is not just limited to the Philippines, as global media outlets also report the same outage issue for Messenger, and it notes that Instagram Direct is also experiencing the same problem as well.

The said outage comes at a time when Facebook is facing an antitrust lawsuit for its acquisition of Instagram and WhatsApp.
