Facebook Rolls Out Messenger Kids

A safer way for your kids to talk on Facebook

Facebook’s a useful tool for parents to instantly connect and message their kids, but there’s always that lingering threat of ne’er do wells in the virtual world to worry about. Facebook’s knows parent’s concerns well and have launched Messenger Kids, a free video calling and messaging app that gives parents better control of who they can talk to online.

With the app, kids can only connect with parent-approved contacts, and messages cannot be deleted so parents can always check what people talk about with their kids. The app links with the parent’s Facebook account, which means they do not have to setup a separate Facebook account for their children if they don’t want to.

Facebook’s also thrown in kid-appropriate masks, stickers and GIFs as well for more interactivity in the app.
