Grab Philippines Revives Grab Bike Feature

Angkas, JoyRide, and Move It have a new competitor

Have you updated your Grab app lately? If you did, you will notice one slight change: the Grab Bike feature is back after it disappeared back in 2016.

Businessworld reports that Grab Philippines has been in talk with the Motorcycle Taxi Technical Working Group (TWG) since December 9 of last year.

“In light of the recent conversations around motorcycle taxis in the Philippines, Grab would like to reiterate its interest in participating in the motorcycle taxi space to help provide affordable and agile transport solutions to hundreds of thousands of Filipino commuters,” Grab’s statement said.

The service is currently on test run and based on a quick comparison, a Grab Bike booking is at least 50% cheaper compared to e regular Grab Car booking.

Outside of the Philippines, Grab Bike is the largest motorcycle-hailing service in Asia, boasting of 2.55 million bike rides and 1.49 million bike drivers based on its 2019 figures.
