Hit Battle Royal Game Apex Legends Might Have a Mobile Version

Riding on a high popularity momentum

You are most likely living on a rock if you are not aware of Apex Legends. Developed by Electronic Arts, Apex Legends aims to go head-to-head with PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds and Fortnite for the battle royale genre.

Over a week since it launched, Apex Legends has become a hit for both PC and console formats—it hit 10 million players in three days, beating Fortnite’s record of achieving the same feat in four days.

Being aware of Apex Legend’s immense popularity, Electronic Arts is considering porting the game to Android and iOS devices as it announced the plan during the Q3 2019 earnings call.

“We are looking at how to take the game to mobile and crossplay over time. I also expect that this game will have tremendous value in Asia, and we’re in conversations about that,” Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson said.

While Wilson did not disclose the development timeline, it would be interesting how mobile gamers will adopt Aped Legends once it hits Android and iOS devices.
