Power Pose Iron Man Mark XLII

As you’ve probably noticed most Iron Man 1/6th scale figures from Hot Toys are very expensive. The Iron Man Mark VII from The Avengers movie easily can sell for Php14,000 while the other suits fetch for almost the same range. That’s probably the reason why we held off in collecting the Iron Man series. The good news though is that Hot Toys came out with a new line called the Power Pose. These are still 1/6th scale figures with semi-articulation. They’re made already with a pose (or two) in mind but they have the same level of detail and are made from high quality material that the other Hot Toys figures have. The awesome news is that they sell for much less! The first Power Pose Iron Man is the Mark XLII and we were able to get it for Php7,000.

The figure stands approximately 30 cm tall, same as your usual Iron Man figure from HT. It has the same design as the one in Iron Man 3 (Tony Stark’s main suit for most of the movie). For articulation there are ball joints on four limbs and the wrist for slightly adjusting the pose. As you can see in the photos the main pose of this figure is with the arm stretched out and the palm facing outward as if Iron Man was blasting something.

The default set-up is with his right leg bended. You can attach the rod in the box to the base and you can have it look like it’s firing a blast while in mid-air. Alternatively you can remove the thigh and replace it with the second one in the box and you can have the Iron Man just stand up normally but still with the firing pose.

There are LED lights on the usual spots: both hands, chest, and the mask. To turn on we just detached the back armor and flipped on a switch. All of the spots light up immediately (battery powered).

Don’t think that this is just a second-rate Iron Man Hot Toys figure. The quality is really awesome and you can see by just taking a close look at how well-built the figure is and how faithful it is to the actual armor in the movie.

Since the figure has the same quality as the other collectibles from Hot Toys, you can pose it with the rest of them and they will all look kick-ass. Here are some sample shots for your appreciation:

At the price that it’s selling for (Php7,000-Php8,000) we seriously believe that you’re getting a great deal, especially if you just want something to pose at home or in your office.
