Ryu!
One of the lines that we’re currently completing from Play Arts Kai is the Super Street Fighter IV set. We’ve actually picked up several already in the last few months so we’ll slowly start featuring the figures here at Unbox. To kick things off we have with us the “lead star” of the game, the wandering Shotokan warrior himself, Ryu!
To those who can’t remember or don’t know Ryu, he was trained by Gouken in the mountains. There, together with his “classmate”, Ken, they learned Shotokan. Eventually Gouken is murdered and this forces Ryu and Ken to embark on an epic journey not just to search out their master’s killer, but also to fight the best warriors all over the globe.
Great articulation, superb likeness!
As with other figures made by Play Arts Kai, this one is rich with detail and articulation. All the usual elements of Ryu in the game are in the figure: his red bandana, fighting gloves, wrist bands with Japanese characters, and even his black belt with Japanese characters!
The box comes with two pairs of hands (closed fists and open palms), two faces (with mouth open and one serious look), and a Hadoken fireball with accompanying stand. These extras combined with the multiple points of articulation lets you pose Ryu in a variety of ways!

Definitely makes for a great addition to our collection! Also it’s the centerpiece to the Super Street Fighter IV line.
We were able to buy this from GreatToysOnline along Annapolis for around Php3,000. Unfortunately this figure is already hard to find so chances of you seeing it on display in stores in Greenhills will be low.
