Big Treat for Pokemon GO Trainers in the Philippines

Aspiring Pinoy Pokemon GO fans are in for a treat when the game finally launches in the Philippines. Smart just announced that upon launch of the game locally, all of their subscribers (Smart and TNT using iPhones or Android smartphones) will get 7 days of free data access to the game. With this promo in place you can expect hundreds of thousands (or even millions) of Filipinos to hit the streets once the game finally goes live in the Philippines.

Once the promo ends, the good news is that Pokemon GO isn’t a data hog. It was revealed by a California-based company called Procesa Labs that the game actually uses less data on average than Facebook or Spotify.

When will the game actually launch? No one knows. In Asia Pokemon GO recently went live in Japan and Hong Kong. There’s no official word yet on the launch for the Philippines.
