Ever wanted to make your own Toy? De La Salle College of Saint Benilde might be the school for you then. The Benilde Toy Development Course is being offered under its School of Professional and Continuing Education or “SPaCE” program. This arm of the school offers a variety of courses for different interests such as business accounting, personal branding, and online influences to name a few. Benilde’s Toy Development Course enables design hopefuls to get one step close to realizing their project.

This course delves into the processes involved in developing a toy from start to finish. Throughout the process, you will be guided by experienced toy designer A.B. Cruz, whose works have won and been exhibited at ToyCon PH. Participants get to learn about manual and powered methods in producing their own prototype. Classes take place online with 4 sessions that are a mix of synchronous and asynchronous lessons. This can take anywhere from 18 to 32 hours to complete depending on your pace. Benilde’s module covers an introduction to toy development, the tools, and processes involved in it, fabrication and prototyping your project, painting and coloring it, and the finalization of the toy project.

The Toy Development course is a certification program that is being offered to marketing professionals who want to learn the process of toy development, individuals who are interested in learning toy conceptualization, design, and fabrication, and to business professionals who would like to familiarize themselves with these processes. The course costs Php 11,895 which includes some materials for the course that can be provided by SPaCE.

Interested applicants for the Benilde Toy Development Course should already have a fundamental understanding of Intermediate drawing.
