Twinmark Media, The Company Behind Trending News Portal, Has Been Banned From Facebook

Facebook claims they’ve been spamming the platform

Facebook today has announced they have banned Twinmark Media Enterprises, the entity behind several big Facebook pages in the Philippines, from their platform for repeatedly violating the social media platform’s misrepresentation and spam policies.

Facebook removed around 220 pages, 73 accounts plus 29 Instagram accounts related to the brand. This includes pages that had millions of followers, including Filipino Channel Online, Gorgeous Me, Unhappy, Text Message and TNP Media.

Facebook says that they discovered that Twinmark sold admin rights to Facebook pages that they created, in order to increase distribution and generate profit, which is against their policy. Further investigation uncovered the repeated use of fake accounts, coordinated inauthentic behaviour, as well as selling access to Facebook pages.

ok promises that it’s taking steps to prevent other bad actors from abusing their platform. It’s an open secret that many other companies are selling Facebook pages, inflating the numbers of followers by promising big giveaways like cars and such, only to replace the page’s name when it’s bought by someone else.
