We are now at a time when our favorite social media platforms will offer a paid option. Discord already has one with Nitro, and Twitter is the latest social media platform to have a paid service with Blue. While Twitter will remain free to everyone, Blue is meant for those who want to enhance their overall Twitter experience.

Those signing up for the subscription service will enjoy three new features. These include:

Bookmark folders that lets you organize all of your saved Tweets according to your preferred categories;

Undo Tweets that lets you set a timer of up to 30 seconds to undo a Tweet you sent–which is useful in case you Tweet has a typo or you forgot to tag someone; and

Reader mode that lets you organize long Twitter threads and turn them into easy-to-read text.

Aside from these three new features, Twitter adds that “Subscribers will also get access to perks, such as customizable app icons for their device’s home screen and fun color themes for their Twitter app, and will have access to dedicated subscription customer support.”

While not a lot of people will be using Reader mode and Bookmark folders often, a lot of people have been clamoring for an undo Tweet feature, and Twitter decided to make the much-requested feature a paid option. While that may be sad especially for those who are not willing to pay for Twitter’s subscription service, locking undo Tweets in a paid gateway (and give users up to 30 seconds to undo Tweets) is most likely Twitter’s way of ensuring that people will not abuse the feature–and to emphasize the importance of thinking first before Tweeting something.

Twitter Blue Price

Twitter’s subscription service will be initially available in Canada and Australia for $3.49 CAD or $4.49 AUD respectively per month. There’s no word when it will be available in the Philippines yet, though reports point to Twitter Blue being priced at Php 145 per month.
