Play Arts Kai FFVII Advent Children: Yuffie Kisaragi

Play Arts Kai, the merchandising arm of Square Enix, launched a new series of action figures from the animated movie Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. The first line of toys include Vincent Valentine, Rufus Shinra, and Yuffie Kisaragi. We were able to snag figures of both Yuffie and Vincent when we were in Hong Kong. We’ll feature both figures and to kick things off let’s start with the athletic, energetic, and materia-addicted ninja, Yuffie!

Definitely brings back a lot of gaming memories

Yuffie!

Final Fantasy VII was the first game that really hooked me to console gaming. The fantastic visuals (it was really good already at that time), superb scoring, and the intense storyline kept me glued for hours on end. One of my favorite characters back then was actually Yuffie! Her joyful and fun attitude and disposition was a welcome and refreshing break from the jaded and rather dark cast of heroes in the Final Fantasy VII story arc. Her trademark giant Shuriken was also a great weapon to see in action during the battle scenes!

We saw Yuffie again several years later in the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children animated movie. She still retained her joyful personality, the giant shuriken, and her fondness for Materia. This action figure from Play Arts Kai masterfully captures all of those qualities!

The sculpting of this particular figure was very impressive! They managed to get her slender yet toned body right including her arms and legs. The multiple points of articulation also makes it easy to pose her in different ways which is fantastic for toy photographers and Final Fantasy fans alike. The figure also came with several hand pegs which can either hold the Materia, the giant shuriken, or a combination of both.

Here are two photos of Yuffie with the hand set for the Materia:

And here are shots of her with an open hand and the other one holding the Shuriken:

Nice right? By the way if you’re wondering about the size of the figure, it measures in at 9.5-inches tall. Not bad and doesn’t look like a cheap buy. Great for collectors and hobbyists!

Yuffie was definitely a great buy and we look forward to collecting this line of Play Arts Kai. Two thumbs up to Square Enix for this awesome action figure! To those who’re wondering about the price, we got it for around Php3,000. There are some shops in Greenhills already selling it but kinda overpriced. We saw one being sold for a whopping Php4,600. If you can wait for it just monitor DataBlitz since they usually bring in action figures from Play Arts Kai. They haven’t announced this particular set yet but we’re hoping to get our Rufus Shinra from them once it’s available from them. 🙂

Watch out for our feature on Vincent soon!
