YouTube made a few changes to its Desktop and Mobile Apps, and introduces its New Logo

Watching videos made easier with this slew of updates

Today, YouTube has announced a series of updates to its video platform, signifying another evolution since it was launched 12 years ago. For this update, YouTube added a few new features to its mobile app, and implemented a Material Design UI for its desktop app.

Aside from the simplified interface of the mobile app, YouTube added gestures to it, letting users do a double tap to the left and right side of the screen to rewind and fast forward a video respectively. Also, a few desktop features have made it to mobile, which include speeding up and slowing down the playback of a video, suggested videos while watching videos on full screen, and automatic adjustment for full screen videos to adapt to any video format.

The desktop app now has a dark theme option to go along with its Material Design UI, giving users a more cinematic feel in watching videos.

To wrap up all these updates, YouTube has updated its logo, this time with their famous play logo sitting beside the wordmark.
