The 2022 Subaru Outback has its price officially released for the Philippines, so potential buyers of this sexy, versatile and sporty wagon can start saving up for the new model
Subaru’s all-new Outback just launched today. The 2022 model is a completely redesigned vehicle from its previous model. It now sits on the newest Subaru Global Platform (SGP). Although not really noticeable outside, it is 50mm longer and 35mm wider than its predecessor, which makes it actually bigger both inside and outside. The cargo space is even made better with an additional 10 liters of capacity. It comes with standard raised roof rails, steering responsive LED headlights, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, everything screams premium. There’s not a hint of cheapness inside this wagon, starting from the Nappa leather seats up to the incredible moonroof. The 11.6-inch tablet-style infotainment screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto is even paired with a 576-watt Harman Kardon 11-speaker system for a premium sound experience.

However, the main attraction of the new model is its unparalleled safety features. Above all else, it comes with a Driver Monitoring System (DMS). A system that monitors the driver’s eyes and alerts the driver should he be looking away from the road when driving. This feature is made possible by using a facial recognition and infrared camera. Moreover, the all-new model comes equipped with the newest iteration of Subaru’s award-winning active driver-assist system known as the EyeSight 4.0. Said feature scans for potential collisions and activates the autonomous emergency steering. Also, it works with adaptive cruise control to keep the vehicle from departing lanes and getting off-center. Lastly, the Outback comes with ABS, stability control, reverse automatic braking, and 8 SRS airbags.
As for performance, the 2022 Subaru Outback comes with a new 2.5-liter normally-aspirated boxer engine. This engine generates 188 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque and is mated to a Lineartronic CVT. It also comes with 4-wheel independent raised suspensions and ventilated disc brakes all around.
