Meet The Evoltis: The Biggest Subaru Ever

Meet The Evoltis: The Biggest Subaru Ever

Many events were cancelled last year due to Covid-19. Motor Image Pilipinas, the sole distributor of Subaru in the Philippines, wasn’t spared when they failed to launch the Evoltis last year as announced. You can get your hopes up this time as the new model is now in select showrooms for viewing. The new Subaru Evoltis is finally set to launch next month in the Philippines.

Like many Subie fans in the country, we are just as excited about the new Subaru Evoltis. Also known as Subaru Ascent in other countries, this car can seat 7 people comfortably – the most in any model Subaru has launched. It’s supposed to compete with the likes of Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, and Mazda CX-9 in the premium midsize SUV class.

The interior screams premium at first glance. It has captain seats in the middle, harman kardon premium audio, and a Starlink entertainment system. It also comes equipped with Subaru’s EyeSight technology, electronic tailgate, and quite numerous 19 cup holders. Driving this huge SUV is made easier through the help of features such as lane keep assist, lane sway warning, automatic emergency braking, pre-collision throttle management, and adaptive cruise control.

Exterior wise, it is Subaru in every inch, and even from a distance. It leaves no doubt or mistake about that. The front-end resembles the Forester, while the rear-end kind of looks the same as the Legacy. This doesn’t mean that Evoltis doesn’t have characteristics of its own.  Its high ground clearance raised roof-rails, and ginormous size is more than enough to individuate itself, especially in the Philippines.

Powering the Evoltis is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged boxer engine. Said engine produces up to 260 hp and 350 Nm of torque, delivered to all four wheels via Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system.

There is only one variant of this model and it is priced at P3,480,000. If you want to see it in person, the Subaru Evoltis is ready for viewing in the Philippines in Subaru’s C5, Greenhills, Manila Bay, and Bonifacio Global City showrooms.
