The 2019 Suzuki Jimny is Finally Here!

Check Out the Beefier Suzuki Jimny!

There’s always been something about Suzuki’s petite 4×4 that has always piqued my interest. It may be its off-beat styling that made it stand out in the crowded lanes of EDSA but a part of me always wanted one and its been a mainstay in my cars I want to own if had bucket loads of money to spend on multiple vehicles plus the parking to accommodate said cars. That interest grew when photo of the fourth generation of this pint-sized SUV started popping up online.

Well, the wait is finally over because last night Suzuki finally launched the Suzuki Jimny All-Grip Pro on our shores and it looks event more fantastic in person.

For those who haven’t seen the multitude of online images, the All-New Jimny gets a more robust silhouette. Gone are its curious curves and, in its stead are boxier edges made even more apparent by its fender flares that frame its 15-inch alloy wheels.

You’re still getting those iconic round headlights and, of course, the spare tire on the back but all the changes make it ever so appealing. We definitely get why some would consider this an alternative to getting a Mercedes G-Class. Of course, all that external styling is to help you get down and dirty off-road too.

Speaking of going off-road, the 2019 Jimny now uses a ladder frame that prevents torsion and is much better for those times you want to go off the beaten path. You also have a 4-cylinder K15B 1.5L engine under the hood that is capable of producing 100HP at 6000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.

One of our complaints about the Suzuki Jimny when we took it out for a spin all the way back in 2016 was the lack of creature comforts. To accompany the sleek black interiors of the vehicle, Suzuki has also mounted a 9-inch multimedia unit, which includes offline GPS navi and off-road audio assistance as well.

Here are the prices for all the variants.

  • GL MT Monotone – Php 975,000
  • GL AT Monotone – Php 1,035,000
  • GLX AT Monotone – Php 1,085,000
  • GLX AT Two-tone – Php 1,095,000

If you’re a fan of this little 4×4 that could, you might want to check out the All-New Suzuki Jimny  All-Grip Pro. We definitely can’t wait to take it out for a spin.
