Apple iPhone 14 Series, Watch 8 Series to Launch on September 7

Apple has finally sent invites to its next event on September 7, which is speculated to be the launch of the iPhone 14 series. The event, which will be entitled “Far Out”, will be the first big launch of Apple that will be held in-person at the Steve Jobs theater at the tech giant’s Cupertino campus since the pandemic.

Like previous launch evens, which were also in-person but held outdoors, there will be live streaming as well.

Following Apple’s launch cycle, the event is highly expected to unveil the iPhone 14 series, which will introduce major changes for the Pro models. There are also reports that Apple might unveil the Watch 8 Series–this time with a Pro variant, and the AirPods Pro 2. The Watch 8 series is expected to use an S8 processor (that includes the SE model), and the Pro will have a strong metal case and a 2-inch display that’s shatter resistant. The AirPods Pro 2 will have an updated look and will reportedly support lossless audio and come with motion detection sensors.

Going back to the iPhone 14 series, it has been highly speculated that only the Pro models will receive major changes. These changes include smaller camera cutouts on the display, a larger main camera sensor that has 48-megapixels, an upgraded A16 Bionic chip, and the much-rumored always-on display feature. All these new features are expected to make the iPhone 14 Pro models more expensive than their predecessors.

While the vanilla iPhone 14 will reportedly keep the same price as its predecessor,  this is primarily because there will be barely any changes to the non-Pro models save for the introduction of a larger iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch display and the discontinuation of the Mini series. Since the vanilla iPhone 14 series will be practically the same as the iPhone 13 series, they are expected to use the same A15 Bionic processor.
