Time to go full steam!
Following Vodafone’s interest in becoming the third telco player in the Philippines, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) released their final timeline for the New Major Player (NMP) selection.
In the infographic above, DICT plans to start the bidding process by November 7, with the invitation to bid starting this Sunday, October 7. The one-month long timeline is determined to be enough for interested participants to ask all the necessary questions before participating in the bidding process.
The search for the third telco has been long-delayed. President Rodrigo Duterte initially promised that the third telco will be up by the first quarter of 2018. With DICT’s timeline, we hope that we get a definite answer to the third telco player by the end of the year.
